Kerstin said: "What an amazing surprise to win this category of the Scottish Nature Photography Awards. I was already chuffed to be shortlisted - but winning the category was unexpected.

"My 2016 radius of photography in Scotland was a bit restricted compared to previous years. I usually spend at least a couple of weeks in the Highlands, mainly leading photography tours for amateurs. Last year I had a break and spent some time exploring my adopted home town instead. While less impressive than the Highlands, Glasgow is full of attractive spaces.

While a frequent explorer of Glasgow’s green spaces, I distinctly remember the day this photo was taken. We went for an evening walk along the canal towards Firhill venturing further than during previous walks. I was totally stunned when we turned the corner and this sight came up. The perfect light and those amazing reflections! I was literally jumping up and down in joy. My partner was giving me some funny looks indeed! I am very happy that the judges decided to make this image the category winner.
