About the Competition
The Scottish Nature Photography Awards Photographic Competition was launched in April 2010 to provide a platform to celebrate Scotland as a key destination for nature photographers and to acknowledge the excellence of the photographic work that is undertaken here through the award of the title of "Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year". Now in its second year, the competition invites entries of images taken in Scotland by professional, semi-professional or amateur photographers.
Our 2011competition will again seek to find the "Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year" through the main categories of Scottish Wildlife, Scottish Landscape, Natural Abstract, Environmental and our new Scottish Botanical category.
The Scottish Nature Photography Awards aims to encourage and promote emerging talent. To that end, this year we are inviting entries for "Student Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year" (open to full-time or part-time students studying a Photography element as part of their further or higher education course) and "Junior Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year" (open to under-18s)

competition opens on the 30th April 2011 and closes on the 30th November 2011
for all entries.
